Looking back, I'd have to say that bike was pretty tough. It made a pretty decent scrambler in a pinch. That first summer the skin on the calves of both my legs stayed blistered most of the time from the side pipes. Later, I owned a couple of small Honda's... a CB90 and 100 I think. When I graduated from High School, I bought a '55 Harley (chopped). I sure wish I had held onto that one. In the summer of 1975, I bought my first NEW motorcycle. It was a crimson Honda 400SS. It had 4 into 1 exhausts, and red-lined at 10,000 rpm. My boss said "If you bought it to be red, you got a bargain". In 1998, I took a job in Charlotte, NC., and moved down here. The weather is great. Come on down, y'all.I bought a '81 GL1100 Interstate off ebay. Before I had a chance to fly out to Iowa and ride it home, the '75 GL1000 <RED> cast it's spell on me. Those of you who own these things will understand. I'm looking forward to joining the club on some rides next season. The mailing list keeps me constantly entertained. Happy Trails, Jim |
