I am Bob Mc Wee 45 years young. Started riding in 1974 bought my first bike Honda CB360 you know the one with 6 speeds. Any way road that till about 1980. Got married in 1978 had a son Donald 1979 then in 1980 had to stop riding you know take the boy here there and every where. Lived and grew up in Washington Pa.. Moved to Maryland in 1984 Got divorced in 1989. Traveled about 40% of the year from 1989 till 1995. Work in Satellite communications and continue to do so. Lived in China from 1992 to 1993 got married to a very nice and sweet asian women my wife Li. Son is now grown up and in college so I got the bug again.
Told the wife I wanted to buy a new bike she said go for it. Looked around awhile and decided what I was going to buy. I then asked the question to the sales men do you have any used bikes, NOTE I have always wanted a Gold Wing since 1975 the year after I bought my 1974. Anyway he said yes we have a 1978 Gold Wing GL1000. I I I said where is it I want to look at it we went to look at it and I fell in love again. Asked how much he said $1300 inspected and on the road, I said sold get it ready. Now you may think I was crazy I had the go ahead to buy a new bike why in the world would I want one that was almost 23 years old. Well maybe most of you would not wonder but anyway she looked dirty when I saw it but I could see under that dirt. I will be taking it very easy since I have not road for almost as long as this bike is old but once you ride you never forget. I am at the age now that speed is not what I am looking for but this gl1000 is. |
